Serenity, peace, get away, breathing space, relaxation and even your retirement that is what Aguanga can offer you. This unincorporated place is situated with nature within and around them. There are approximately 2000 residents enjoying this place.

Aguanga means Land of Water, and more specifically "the place of water", it evolved from the name Picha Awanga. It is said that the Native Indians are the first inhabitants of the place, but were driven away by an earthquake in 1903 because of the disturbance of the artesian springs. The place is perched 15 minutes away from Temecula. Hi-way 371 is the highest numbered route signed by the state. Route 371 runs through Aguanga, the Cahuilla Indian Reservation (with it's new Casino) and on into Anza. The place is a high desert, and very hot and dry during the summer. But holding up to its name it is plentiful in water both via the creek that runs through the foot of the mountains and the wells that are plentiful in water flow. But do not be fooled, the place is 25 days with precipitation, and the rest is sun. The climate is dry and mild.
