Mission Viejo sublime Spanish American

Even though Mission Viejo has only been an incorporated city for a short time it is steeped in tradition that dates back to the days of men on horses driving cattle.
Over a quarter of a century ago, the Mission Viejo Co. bought a 10,000-acre parcel of Rancho Mission Viejo from the O'Neill family, that owned most of the land from Oceanside all the way to El Toro. The company created a master planned community, which specified the number of parks, homes, recreational activities and retail spaces that would be built here.
The beautifully rolling hills of the valley which at the time was home to a sea of grazing cattle would soon become home to people seeking "The California Promised Land."
The vision for the community began in the early 60's with a planners blueprint. The development plan made its way through a maze of county and state permits and by the mid-60's the first homes for sale in Mission Viejo were on the market.
Only a few changes, most notably the additions of Saddleback College and Lake Mission Viejo, have been made to the initial plan first submitted for the community. The Mission Viejo Country Club has one of the finest golf courses in all of Orange County.
Today over 96,000 people call Mission Viejo home and the Mission Viejo real estate market has never been stronger.
The Mission Viejo Co. has been involved from the beginning, not only did the company lay the groundwork for the planned city, but it also helped to develop the many community activities available and helped to create the Mission Viejo identity.
The Mission Viejo Co. was a major sponsor of floats in the Rose Parade, the Fourth of July displays at Lake Mission Viejo and St. Patrick's Day parades as well as the internationally recognized Nadadores swim team.
Visiting Mission Viejo today you'll see a strong influence of the Spanish architecture, the beauty of Lake Mission Viejo and the wonderful scenery of the surrounding hilly countyside.
Of the many beautiful homes for sale in Mission Viejo you'll find the home at 22601 Tindaya, the exquisite place at 27972 Cabo Rosa and the serenity at 27661 Chapala.
